You screw this coupling with its female thread onto an external thread: the discharge port of a pump, a tap, an adapter or the end of a pipe. After that you click on any GEKA hose coupling, without tools.
That turns a fixed threaded connection into a quick coupling. Useful anywhere you connect something different from time to time: a hose today, a manifold tomorrow.
Which size do you need
The size is the thread size of the connection, not the diameter of your hose. Available in 3/8", 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1 1/4" and 1 1/2".
If you are unsure of the thread size, check the pump's type plate or measure the outside of the thread. If there is no thread at all and you want to connect a hose directly, you need the version with a hose tail.

Female or male thread?
A female thread screws onto an external thread. If instead you screw it into an internal thread, you need the version with a male thread.
Note: this is not a Storz
GEKA and Storz both click together with lugs, but they do not fit one another. GEKA has a single lug spacing of 40 mm and belongs on garden and work hoses; Storz has lug sizes from 52 to 133 mm and belongs on construction pumps and discharge hoses.
