Which submersible pump do you need? With this calculator you work out in a minute what flow rate (m³ per hour) and what head your pump has to achieve as a minimum. Enter how much water has to go, how high it has to be lifted and which hose you are using. The calculator includes the hose loss and then shows you the pumps that fit.

Your pump must deliver at least
The water flows very fast through the hose. Choose a larger diameter and the pump needs less head.

How we calculate
Flow rate = water volume ÷ pumping time. Hose loss using Hazen-Williams (C = 140) plus 10% for bends and couplings. Total head = height difference + hose loss. A guideline: water type, solids and voltage also determine which pump fits.
