Pros and cons:
+ Drains flat floors down to a water level of 2 mm
+ Rubberised base plate: does not damage smooth or coated floors
+ Double cooling jacket, so continuous slurp operation (air-water mixture mode) is no problem
+ Double silicon carbide mechanical seal and thermal motor protection
+ Stainless steel outer jacket with cast iron pump housing and polyurethane impeller
− No float: the pump does not switch itself on and off
Flat suction submersible pump for floors without a sump:
The SPT SPR is a flat suction submersible pump for places where there is no pump sump: a flooded cellar, a garage, a swimming pool that has to be emptied, a foundation or a flat roof. Where an ordinary submersible pump stops at five centimetres, the SPR keeps going down to about 2 mm. So you no longer have to mop up the last layer.
The base plate is rubberised. That saves scratches on a coated concrete floor or a pool bottom, and it saves noise. Thanks to the double cooling jacket the water flows along the motor, so the pump can run in slurp mode (drawing an air-water mixture) for hours on end without overheating. In practice it is precisely that slurp mode that destroys cheap pumps.
Which version do I need? The SPR 370 W moves 230 litres per minute at a maximum head of 11 metres and, at 12 kg, is easy to carry. The SPR 750 W is the powerful version: 320 litres per minute and almost 16 metres of head. If you have three-phase power on site, choose the SPR 750 D at 400 volts.
Looking instead for a flat suction pump that drains down to about 1 mm of residual water? Then look at the SPT FSP 400 W. If dirty water with solids has to be removed from a sump, the SPT 750 W is the better choice.
