Collection: Grey water pumps for lightly contaminated water
Grey water is water without sewage but with some dirt in it: rainwater, cellar water, washing water. A free passage of up to about 10 mm is usually enough. If you expect leaves or sand, choose a dirty water pump.

Lightly contaminated water, or grey water
Grey water is water without sewage, but with some dirt in it: rainwater that has run over a roof or terrace, water from a flooded cellar, washing water from a washing machine or shower. It contains small particles, but no coarse solids.
What to look at
- A free passage of up to about 10 mm is usually enough for grey water. If you expect leaves or sand, choose a dirty water pump.
- Automatic switching. If the pump has to be left unattended, take one with a float or level switch. See submersible pumps with float.
- How far does the water go down? If the floor really has to be dry, look at the flat suction pumps; those drain down to a few millimetres.
If the water is completely clean — mains water, pool water, a water butt — a pump from clean and lightly contaminated water will do. Not sure? Call +31 85 - 210 08 97.
