Original HOMA float switch that makes a pump start and stop automatically according to the water level. Use it with a pump without a built-in float, or as a replacement for a worn float.

Which version do you need?

  • AS emptying: switches the pump on as the water rises. This is the normal choice for cellars, excavations and pump sumps.
  • AS filling: switches on as the water falls instead, for example when filling a tank.
  • KR1 normally open: standard float with a wide switching angle (45°), to be connected directly to the control panel as a combined on/off switch. The most economical choice for a fixed installation.
  • MS1 changeover contact and MC-mini: universal, usable for both emptying and filling, and suitable as a level signal to a control panel. The MC-mini is compact, handy in a narrow sump.
  • N1pro: resistant to aggressive liquids.
  • MS1-EX and KR1-EX (ATEX): for potentially explosive environments, always in combination with a safety barrier or Ex control panel.

Useful extras

  • Mounting bracket: holds up to four floats at the right height, for example for on, off and alarm in one sump.
  • Counterweight N1: fits cable from 4 to 10 mm and sets the switching point. The shorter the free cable, the smaller the difference between the start and stop level.

Choose the cable length so that you can comfortably reach from the pump to the control panel or socket; we supply 5 to 30 metres. Shortening the cable is not allowed: the length is part of the approved version.

In practice a float is often hung too low and gets stuck in the sludge. So hang it slightly above the bottom and check during maintenance that it can move freely. That prevents most faults.

Not sure which float suits your pump or control panel? Let us know the type and we will look it up.
