Pros and cons:
+ Complete kit for dewatering an excavation: pump, 10 m hose with Storz C couplings and carrying basket
+ Wear-resistant site pump for water containing sand, sludge and mud
+ Automatic float switch, can also be operated manually
+ Bouw-Box R with agitator: keeps mud moving so the pump does not silt up
+ Robust plastic box: fits straight into the standard kit of a site van
− Free passage 6 mm: stones and coarse rubble must stay outside the basket
Site pump kit for fast dewatering of an excavation:
On a building site only one thing counts: the water has to go, and now. The HOMA Bouw-Box is a complete site pump kit in a robust plastic box that simply travels in the back of the van. Pump, 10 m cable with plug, 10 m woven hose with Storz C couplings and a carrying basket are all in it. So a coupling or length of hose is never missing.
Bouw-Box or Bouw-Box R? The Bouw-Box has an HBP503 WA: a wear-resistant site pump with a stainless steel motor and cooling jacket, 15.5 m³/h and 12 m head, with a control panel for manual or automatic operation. The Bouw-Box R has an HBPR504 WA with a vortex impeller and agitator. The agitator mixes settled sludge and mud back into the water so it is pumped away instead of building up under the pump. Ideal for muddy excavations.
In practice a cheap submersible pump in an excavation is worn out by the sand within a few weeks. Both pumps in the Bouw-Box have a cast iron pump housing and a wear-resistant impeller. They are built for abrasive water and continuous operation. While pumping, the carrying basket also acts as a pre-filter.
