Clean water submersible pumps

Clear water pumps are designed for water without solids: rainwater in a basement or crawl space, emptying a pond or swimming pool, or a flooded garden. They have a small free passage and therefore pump down to a very low level — flat-suction models down to approximately 1 mm, eliminating the need for mopping.

What to consider when choosing

  • Float switch — do you want the pump to switch on and off automatically? Then choose a model with a mechanical, electromechanical, or electronic float.
  • Head — how many meters does the water need to be lifted? Factor in the height plus the resistance of the hose.
  • Flow rate — how many cubic meters per hour need to be removed? Speed matters when dealing with flooding.
  • Material — plastic is light and affordable; stainless steel is the choice for more aggressive or saline water.
