Als het medium de pomp aantast

Chemisch, zouthoudend of anderszins agressief water vraagt om andere materialen. Een standaardpomp van gietijzer of kunststof gaat in zulk water snel achteruit: de waaier vreet weg, de as roest, de afdichting laat los.

Waar u op let

  • Materiaal van pomphuis en waaier. RVS of titanium, afhankelijk van het medium. Zie ook de RVS-pompen.
  • Afdichting. Een dubbele mechanische afdichting, bijvoorbeeld van siliciumcarbide, houdt het medium buiten de motor.
  • Het medium zelf. “Chemisch bestendig” bestaat niet in het algemeen: het hangt af van de stof, de concentratie en de temperatuur.
