Wanneer is een ATEX-uitvoering nodig?

Waar brandbare gassen, dampen of stof kunnen ontstaan, geldt een zone-indeling. Komt de pomp in zo’n zone te staan, dan moet hij explosieveilig zijn uitgevoerd — dat is geen keuze maar een eis. Denk aan rioolputten waar gisting optreedt, opvangputten bij een tankstation of werkputten waar brandstofresten in het water zitten.

Belangrijk om te weten

  • De zone bepaalt de eis, niet de pomp. Wie de zone-indeling maakt, is de installatieverantwoordelijke of de veiligheidskundige van het project.
  • Het hele systeem telt mee. Ook de schakelkast, de niveauschakelaar en de kabeldoorvoer moeten bij de zone passen. Een ATEX-pomp op een gewone schakelaar is geen ATEX-installatie.
  • Documentatie bewaren. Bij een keuring wordt om de verklaring en de markering gevraagd.
