Waste water submersible pumps
Dirty water pumps handle wastewater with solid particles: sludge, sand, leaves, and construction debris. They have a large free passage and a robust impeller, and are designed for heavier and more prolonged work than clear water pumps — think of construction pits, pumping stations, drainage, and sump pits.
What to consider when choosing
- Free passage — for really dirty water, you want 30 to 50 mm or more. This determines whether the pump clogs or keeps working.
- Impeller type — a vortex impeller for dirty water with fibers, a channel impeller for more efficiency with less coarse dirt.
- Voltage — 230V for lighter work, 400V (three-phase current) for heavier construction pumps.
- Jacket cooling — necessary if the pump can partially run dry with fluctuating water levels.
- Feces? Then you need a specifically suitable pump or a lifting station.
